Breathe City Church

When

When… is a ministry set up in order to answer the challenge laid out in Matthew 25 where Jesus distinguishes between those who gave Him something to eat, invited Him in, clothed Him, looked after Him and visited Him in prison and those who didn't. He separates them to the right and to the left. The question that they all ask is, "when…?"

"When did we give you something to eat?"

"When did we see you a stranger and invite you in?"

Jesus replied, “…whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.”

Housed inside Breathe City Church’s Campus: Fenton, When… provides brand new clothing and household equipment to those in most need across the city of Stoke on Trent, nationally and internationally. Goods are received through donation from retail companies and are then redistributed to those in need.

Upon arrival at the When... Distribution Centre, all goods are processed and stored. Needs are identified through referrals, which are received from both individuals and organisations such as, schools, churches, children’s centres, NHS, adult services, children’s services, teenage mother and baby units, women’s safe houses etc. The appropriate goods for each referral are then collected and distributed to the individuals and organisations free of charge.

Thousands of people have benefited from the When... Distribution Centre, including those who are homeless, living in temporary accommodation or street dwellers, those who are living in the areas of deprivation within the city and those who are escaping domestic violence.

When… relies upon volunteers to process incoming goods, and to pick and pack goods ready to be delivered directly to people in need across the city.  When... work parties take place every Monday night from 7:30pm.

DONATING GOODS

When... are able to receive products that are not suitable for your customers for reasons such as wrong colour, misprints, damaged pallets, etc., provided the products are still usable and, where applicable, have a shelf life of at least one year.  This saves your company disposal costs, is effective recycling, and environmentally friendly.

Products such as clothing, underwear, footwear, bedding, kitchen equipment and toiletries would be very gratefully received.  If you are a retailer and believe you could help, please contact Baz Barraclough.
